St Thomas the Apostle holds the care, safety and wellbeing of children as a fundamental responsibility. This commitment is drawn from, and inherent to, the teaching and mission of Jesus Christ, with love, justice and the dignity of each human person at the heart of the Gospel. A culture of safety within the parish ensures that all children and young people can actively and fully participate in the life of the Church and realise their potential in a faith community.  As a parish under the stewardship of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, we hold as a principle:

To be on earth the Heart of God.

With this vision, there is a universal expectation for the protection of children and young people. It is expected that those engaged in the Church and within our parish promote the inherent dignity of children and young people and their fundamental right to be respected and nurtured in a safe environment.
